God’s creation, what a beautiful thing. Have you ever stopped and looked at the trail of ants? The deer in your yard? The giraffe with the long neck? Have you ever wondered why God made these creatures? How about the rain as it hits God’s earth. Do you stop and think about God’s design to water His plants and trees and to be used to renovate it someday? How about the Thunder? Can you feel God’s power when the storm comes? How about God’s ecosystems? Does his order amaze you? In Romans 1:20 Paul says, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people can be without excuse.” God is all around us and His qualities of who He is can greatly be seen in creation. Yet, the world we live in is screaming chaos, confusion, and neglecting our perfect God who is right in front of us. How could the order, beauty, and interdependency witness in the created world exist If not designed by a Maker with immeasurable knowledge and power?

We had two births on our farm this week. One of the ewes came into the pen and laid down all of a sudden and in a matter of a minute, a little ram was born. The mother turned her back and wanted nothing to do with this little guy who was trying to get up and see his mother. For two days we tried to get them to bond, but we had no success. This little Ram reminds me of Our Lamb of God. Rejected. Persecuted. Tortured. He came to perfect into the world, but the world wants ANYTHING but Him. Why do people reject Jesus? How about the Creator behind Creation? If we acknowledge the reality of a creator, it invites PERSONAL accountability to the one who designed the world. We then are accountable to the Creator of the universe who walked on earth and died to redeem all people who believe in Him by grace through faith. Ah, but if we acknowledge God as the giver of life we are able to see His wonderful creation through His eyes. It’s quite magnificent.

Our other ewe gave birth a day after the first one. Only I saw this ewe having contractions and even saw her push the head out. However, usually, the front feet come out with the head. She was panicking and scared. She began running and shouting for help! I called Randy and told him I needed help. We did our best to usher her in the pen and straddle he. She laid down and fell asleep, stressed. I put my gloves on and made my way trying to get the shoulders out. It was a difficult thing, as I did not want to hurt this little lamb! But he came out and the mother woke up. She liked her baby. He was big! They put their noses together and it was such a special moment to witness God’s design for these creatures. This mom knew what to do and she protected this little Ram. Randy and I joked because it felt like the first night of Christmas a long time ago. All our animals were outside the pen, watching. The other sheep were saying, “ba-ba” back and forth. It felt like they were coming to witness this birth they were waiting for. It was very special. My kids are enjoying this baby lamb we are bottle feeding now. He is pretty sweet.
