Who protects you? Where do your go when you need shelter? There is only one living God, that protects us, that is Jesus. Sometimes when storms hit God may not be the person we go to first. It could be a friend or spouse. Jesus is our ultimate protector and provider in all things, Through every storm or battle He can see us through. Most often He is waiting, for us to call on Him.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says, “We are pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned, struck down, but not destroyed. “ Do you have confidence God will protect you and guide you through lives troubles?
Randy and I have been through many battles together. You will get to hear about them eventually. In Matthew 16:13-15 Jesus asks his disciples “Who do you think I am?” The disciples answered honestly. Some thought John the Baptist, some thought Jeremiah. Today, people might think he was a great teacher or storyteller. But, Who do you think Jesus is? Who is He to you? If we back up in the story, in Matthew the disciples forgot about Jesus providing Fish and loafs of bread. They were so caught up that they forgot the food! Jesus was upset. Who do you think I am? See, God provided the fish for 4,000. God provided the food for 5,000. Did they not remember? The reason I bring this up is because OUR LIVING GOD gets us through every storm, every hurdle, and every obstacle. He protects us. Do you remember the last storm He got you through? Trust me, There will be more obstacles then the one you are going through now. He puts these obstacles and storms so we can draw close to Him. Our relationship should be stronger and faith in our Father should be stronger than it was before the storm. Well, He will get you through the next and the next. I promised God will not make you forget and most often you will thank Him for the storm and for His grand protection during it.
There are many animals people have options in choosing to be a protector on their land. Some use a sheep dog, a llama, or donkey to protect the heard. We did not chose a sheep dog. Although my kids would have loved it, for it to be a protector it really should not be a pet. The dog stays outside (trust me they want to lay with the sheep and prefer that). Also many sheep dogs bark all through the night. We thought our neighbors may not like it. So, I told Randy lets get a Donkey! We laughed. No way on earth did we ever think we would have a donkey. I don’t know anyone with a Donkey! Wow, can I just say they are the sweetest. Man, we have two sweet donkeys named Faith and Gracie. They love to give us kisses, they follow us around, and they heard the animals for us! They even protect the chickens. They love their animal friends. They are so special to us.
