Last week I noticed our little cat was pregnant. She was very skinny but her nipples were swollen. She wandered a lot, but all of a sudden began just laying around and not going far. This past weekend our family was enjoying the pool and Panther (our cat) came to us bringing what we thought was a Rat! She went in a little kennel we have on our porch and laid there. It was not a rat! She had kittens! I just noticed she was pregnant. I had googled, “What are the signs of a cat being pregnant and how long is the gestation.” I mean I wanted to be prepared! The “all knowing” computer told me a week ago, 60 days! Wow was I wrong! Do you ever want to be in control of situations or just life in general? When we feel like we are in control it makes us feel better. You plan, prepare, and know what to expect. In some ways you might feel powerful!!!! Well, that is just not how God works. In fact is it very much the opposite. He wants US to be uneasy, uncertain, and relying only on Him.
Psalms 118:8 says, “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in People.
The deceiver has been telling the world to trust in ourselves and rely on YOU. “You can control everything, you have strength”. These lies are filtrated through everything from TV and can even come from some closest friends or family. Spending time in God’s word and having a deepened relationship with Him, won’t leave you disappointed or angry when you hit situations , where there is no control. Instead, you will see more of our Father in the situation and all His goodness.
Aren’t the kittens cute? How did God make animals with instinctiveness just to know what to do and care for their young? There is so much detail, power, uniqueness, and beauty in His creation. I hope His majesty get’s you thinking today, about how amazing our Creator is and how He is in control of all things!
