God has brought to light that people need to hear adoption stories of all kinds. It is amazing how God just flashed all these faces of people who have adopted, I personally know. Each family is different. Their situation is different. Each adoption was a blessing to each person I know. Years ago when I prayed and investigated adoption, I realized there are not many stories online where people share the blessings, the hard points, and what God has done in their life through the adoption process. People need to hear stories, need to be encouraged, and to pray about how God can use them. Each month I will be highlighting a family who has adopted.
I am starting the series with my dear friend, Jen. She and her husband Dan, have five kids. Two kids are adopted from China. Jen and I met in the hallway of church. Randy and I were discussing what Sunday School class we were going to visit to see if it was a good fit for us. I wanted to go to a different one than he did! Ha! Jen said, “Hey can I help you find a Sunday School class?” She said, “You know just come to our class.” Well, that was the ONLY class we went to. If you were to meet Jen you would understand why. She is bubbly, full of energy, and hugs everyone. We just followed her. In all reality, she emits Jesus all over. She is full of compassion and such an encourager. You are drawn to her—In fact she is one of the people I go to when I need prayer. I contacted her recently when I was struggling to see what God’s plan was as the war broke out in Ukraine. My head was spinning as I knew what God told me, but I needed encouragement! I asked for her to pray for me. You know, she sent me Biblical encouragement right back. A text I needed in that moment and I knew she was praying for me. Because that’s Jen. Everyone needs a Jen! Listen to her story about how God provided and paved a way for adoption in China. He showed up and was faithful. He moved in many ways! Be inspired and listen how adoption strengthened their family. Is God calling you Internationally? And even to China?
Ephesians 1: 5 “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great delight”
Imagine how God can use you to further His kingdom. As Jen said, ” Sanctification is hard but without it we can’t look like Jesus. ”
If you are considering adoption and feel burdened with the financial aspect, check out Jen’s ministry. It is called One More Ministry. Click on link below. Contact her for more information or perhaps other ways to help. Don’t get discouraged. Be encouraged! I love what Jen said, “He will fund what He favors.”
