We have had a wonderful time homeschooling this past week. I love holidays! It is so fun preparing different fun related Science experiments, to crafts, and Bible teaching.
Ephesians 3:18 says, “And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, How WIDE, How LONG, How HIGH, How DEEP HIIS LOVE IS.” Why does Paul ask God to help the saints grasp the love of Christ? Because he knows its is the work of God to make a person feel loved. Paul was a man commissioned to take the good news of Christ to the Gentiles, so spend every day he had talking to people about the love of God. Paul knew it was beyond his ability to help them experience it, to really know love with more than a superficial understanding. Everyone wants to feel God’s love. We hunger for it. To know it and to experience it in a life changing way. We may not fully ever understand how much He loves it, but God will provide ways for us to experience just how great His love is for us. When my host kids left, I never knew how much I could love them. I loved and do love them so much. My heart aches. God showed me in a short period of time just how much He loves me. And how I don’t deserve what He did for ME! He chose me to be adopted into His kingdom and loves me no different than any one of his children.
After our host kids left to go back home, my kids are still feeling the love of God from our special home trip. We made some red special Russian drinks, did many crafts, and science experiments. I love being creative and trying to make “school” fun. There are so many great ideas online that I gather and make my own tweaks. Each week I sit down and prepare a least a few fun things to do with my kids, that are not part of the curriculum, but things I have chosen to do.
